Mother and board member of Autism Nova Scotia, Ally Garber has written an honest and eloquent article that gives us a glimpse into the lives of people living with autism from a place of awareness with a goal of moving towards acceptance.
We appreciate and thank Ally for showing us a glimpse of her reality and the reality of others who support those living with autism. We also would like to raise awareness around the position that the puzzle piece symbol is offensive to many and that we should all move away from this symbol as we promote autism awareness and acceptance throughout the years.
We are in a changing world where diversity prevails and should celebrated.
