South Shore Regional Centre for Education
SSRCE serves the 59,000 residents of Lunenburg and Queens Counties, an area of 5250 square kilometres. It’s responsible for 26 schools in the region, ranging from elementary schools to adult high schools.
The SSRCE also operates Verge House, which is a community-based educational transition program. This program is for students ages 18 to 21 who have individual program plans and benefit from learning life skills.
SSRCE’s mission is to provide our students with a learning environment that engages and inspires them to reach their full potential.
Regional and school-based staff manage our school system to provide education programs and services to all students, including transportation. The SSRCE employs regional staff, school administrators, teachers, administrative assistants, librarians, custodians, teaching assistants, computer technicians and school bus drivers.
