Big Tancook & Greenfield Elementary Schools Offering Pre-Primary for 2021-22
SSRCE is pleased to welcome two additional pre-primary sites for the 2021-22 school year. Registrations are now being accepted for pre-primary at Greenfield and Big Tancook Elementary schools.
In order to be eligible to attend pre-primary, your child must be 4-years-old on or before December 31 in the year they start pre-primary and families need to live in the catchment area of the school for which they are registering.
Pre-primary is a play-based program that supports young children’s development. It is a free program that is voluntary and lays the foundation for school success and lifelong learning.
Greenfield’s pre-primary program will take place next door to the school at the Greenfield Community Centre and Big Tancook’s program will take place in available space within the school. Families are encouraged to register their children for our pre-primary program online here or to contact the school directly.
If you know someone in the community who has a child ready to start pre-primary in September, please pass along this information. The delivery of pre-primary at each school/community is assessed yearly based on enrolment numbers, as there must be a minimum of five students each year to offer the program.
If you’d like to learn more about Nova Scotia’s pre-primary program, please view this fact sheet. We look forward to welcoming our new pre-primary students in September.
