Dear school community,
Thank you for your efforts to keep our communities and schools as safe as possible.
On Monday, October 4, the Provincial Proof of Vaccination Protocol will be implemented in Nova Scotia. This protocol applies to school-related extracurricular events and activities that happen outside the regular school day, including sports.
You may have questions about what this means for students involved in extracurricular activities at our schools. We encourage to you to follow this link for more.
Additionally, the province has provided more information that may be helpful:
How to access Nova Scotia COVID-19 Proof of Vaccination
Guide for participants at events and activities requiring proof of full vaccination
Nova Scotia coronavirus website
Please note that volunteers and spectators, including parents and guardians, will be required to show COVID-19 proof of vaccination along with an additional form of identification when attending extra-curricular activities outside the school day. This applies to both indoor and outdoor activities. Also, as you will see in the provincial Q&A, children who turn 12 between January 1 and October 4, 2021 have until December 31, 2021 to attend events and activities while they get vaccinated. Children who turn 12 after October 4, 2021 have 3 months from their birthday to get vaccinated. Additionally, students aged 13 to 18 who have proof of receiving one dose of COVID-19 vaccine can participate in extra-curricular activities and to continue participating, these students must provide proof of full vaccination by November 9, 2021.
Thank you for your continued support.
