Enhanced Public Health Measures Being Introduced

Dear parents/guardians,

This afternoon, the Province announced enhanced restrictions to deal with the increasing numbers of COVID-19 cases in our community.

To support our communities and in consultation with Public Health, enhanced restrictions are being introduced in our schools. All schools will move immediately to enhanced public health measures. This means only essential visitors in school, and a move to reduce mixing and movement of students inside school and on the playgrounds.

Traditional holiday activities such as assemblies and concerts are cancelled, and we are limiting school sports to skills-training only. We understand this is disappointing, however, we must remember keeping our schools and communities safe and healthy is our top priority.

We are asking teachers and staff to be vigilant about masking in schools, and access to the school cafeteria will be limited.

We will continue to consult with Public Health as we prepare for a return to school in January.

Finally, we want to thank you for everything you do to keep children safe and learning during the Pandemic. These are challenging times, and your patience and support are appreciated.

Thank you.
