FEBRUARY IS BLACK HISTORY MONTH ~ Get to know some notable African Nova Scotian’s:

Burnley Allan “Rocky” Jones was an political activist who was born and raised in Nova Scotia. He was born in Truro, Nova Scotia and grew up advocating for equality in rights on the topics of race, poverty and human rights. He was instrumental in bringing the Black Panther Party to Canada. Later in life, Rocky acquired his law degree at Dalhousie University in Halifax. He was and is an inspiration for many people in the Maritimes and across Canada.
