SSRCE Monthly Report & 2021-22 Updates
As we wrap up the end of the school year, we’d like to share our monthly newsletter as well as a couple upcoming changes for the 2021-22 school year.
Paying School-Related Fees is About to Get Easier
SSRCE is soon launching a new system that will allow parents/guardians to pay school-related fees from the comfort of their home via electronic payments!
This coming 2021-2022 school year, SchoolCash Online will be available to all SSRCE families. From yearbook fees to lunch orders, safe and secure payments can be made within minutes.
Stay tuned for more information on how to sign-up in September.
Planning for September
We are updating the way we communicate with you. SSRCE and individual schools will soon be moving to a new system called SchoolMessenger Communicate. As with our previous system, we will continue to use this new service to let families know of school cancellations, announcements, and other important news through email, text, and automated phone calls. As part of the switch to this new program, we will be sending a required text message to allow families to opt-in to continue to receive our text messages. We will share more information on this opt-in text as we get closer to the start of the 2021-22 school year.
Monthly Newsletter
Please review our June Monthly Report for a message to our graduates, a story about a special award for Forest Heights Community School, and how our students and staff are honouring the lives of children lost at Residential Schools.

Thanks for a Successful School Year
Congratulations to all the 2021 graduates! You have all worked so hard through a challenging time and you should be extremely proud of your accomplishments.
We all started the year with a common goal, for our students to have a safe and successful year. We were lucky to have our students completing most of the year in their classrooms and we thank all families, staff, students, and school communities for their support and care throughout the year.
COVID-19 Vaccine Information
We understand parents, guardians, and your children may have questions about the COVID-19 vaccine. Attached is a letter from Nova Scotia Public Health, IWK Health, and the Department of Health and Wellness. It has links to information about the vaccine from a range of reliable sources, including the IWK and the Canadian Paediatric Society, as well as tips on how to talk with your child about the vaccine, how to get them ready to get it, and how to make the experience more comfortable for them.
Have a happy and healthy summer!
