Update for April 27, 2021
Dear families,
Today, the province made an announcement that all schools in Nova Scotia are moving to at-home learning for a period of at least two weeks. An update will be provided to families by May 12, 2021.
Schools will close to students at the end of day today (Tuesday, April 27, 2021) and online learning will begin on Friday, April 30, 2021. The SSRCE PD day that was scheduled for Friday, April 30 will be rescheduled at a later date.
What should you expect?
You can expect a combination of real-time instruction delivered by teachers and self-directed learning. Students will have opportunities to engage virtually with their peers, their teachers, and all other supports. Principals will be in communication with their school communities before Friday with transition plans.

For families who are unable to access food during the school closures, Feed Nova Scotia and local food support programs are here to help. If you are unable to access food support from a local food program, Feed Nova Scotia’s COVID-19 Emergency Food Box Program is available. Call 211 weekdays between 8am and 8pm to see if the program is a good fit.
How can we stop the spread of COVID-19?
Please continue to monitor yourself, and your child(ren) daily for signs or symptoms of COVID-19, using Nova Scotia’s Daily Checklist.
Get tested. Public Health is encouraging everyone to test regularly for COVID-19, even if you have no symptoms or only mild symptoms. Visit the Nova Scotia Health Authority website for more information about testing.
Thanks to everyone for following the Public Health guidelines that have allowed students in Nova Scotia to be in school this year. Keep it up—we’ll get there again.
