South Shore Regional Centre for Education
The South Shore Regional Centre for Education (SSRCE) serves the more than 62,000 residents of Lunenburg and Queens Counties, Nova Scotia. In 2023-24, the SSRCE provided English-language education to approximately 6,300 students in grades pre-primary to 12, including international students, in 23 schools in the Region.
SSRCE is comprised of eleven elementary schools, four elementary/middle schools, two middle level schools, two junior/senior high schools, three high schools, and one elementary/junior/senior high school. The SSRCE also operates two adult high schools, various alternate programs, and Verge House, a community based educational transition program for students aged 18-21 who have individual program plans.
SSRCE’s mission is to provide our students with a learning environment that engages and inspires them to reach their full potential.
Regional and school-based staff manage our school system to provide education programs and services to all students, including transportation.
